COPENHAGEN FASHION WEEK

This week the fashion in Scandinavia has been hosted by Copenhagen, well known for having great designers for both men and women. We Swedes have been wearing them for a long time and it looks like we will be doint that for 2009 also. I picked some of my favorites. Check it out and see what you find.

CASMOSE
I love the way the designer Tina Casmose is using the female shapes for her collection. The high neck, marked waste and using layers in a beautiful way – going back to the 20's. She is also very aware and is using only organic and long lasting materials, so you can invest in her clothes for many years.

STINE GOYA
Stine Goya has more edgy lines but still very female and, I think, very interesting to check out.

BO VAN MELSKENS
I think that these designs are just so cool. They make want to have them now, now, now. Bo Van Melskens is Sarah Elbo's (SARAH HEARTBO) new fashion label. The Danish designer has chosen Berlin as her base and inspiration. Apparently the BO character is a feminine dandy and serves as Sarah's muse and inspiration.

DAY BIRGER et MIKKELSEN
We have seen them for 10 years now they have successfully developed their brand on the international market. The brand's bohemian yet modern style is based on fine tailoring and fabrics.

RÜTZOU and MUNTHE & SiMONSEN
Two different desgigners and styles, but both using black, leather and interesting shapes in their AW 2009 Collections. I like their mix of materials and styles. Leather, fringes, smoky eyes and cape from the 20's...- makes me want to see more.
