STYLING ANNIKA

My very pretty friend and cousin Annika is a very hard
working lawyer and a mother for two kids. She doesn't
have that much (read 'no') time over for shopping.
In her job she needs to wear a bit strict lawyer-outfits.
And on her free time she often just pu on the favourite
jeans and a top.

But now she decided to invest in her self and in a new
fresh wardrobe for the spring. And I'm very happy to
help her out – what is a better thing to do on a Friday
lunch, than shopping with a friend...

My objective was not to do a crasy shopping tour,
but to get her some basic, cool outfits that are easy
to match and that gives her a cool and stylish attitude.

So I actually started with two of my own current favourites
– a striped top and a black shiny thin jacket.
A striped top is always right, especially this one made of
a delicate thin, see-through fabric.
Under the striped top I choose a lace tight top.

.
.
.

As I posted before, a black shiny jacket is
soo great, because you can wear it instead of a
suit-jacket inside or as a jacket when the temp
get up out there. It's both stylish and cool and
she can wear it with jeans, tights, skirts or
a dress. Annika's top is from FilippaK for just 1199 kr

.
.
.

For going out, I wanted to find her a dress that she can
wear both dress-up and dress-down. This top from
Tiger (1299) is very cool and she looks fantastic in it.
She can wear it with tights, lace-socks or jeans
depending on the look she is after. And she can wear it
with a jacket to get the more dress-down look. The back is
bare so it gives her a cool/elegant style.

.
.
.
.

A very good basic wear is also the long t-shirt.
She can wear this under her striped top, as it is
under a suite jacket. With tight jeans or just tights.
It's a must to have in your wardrobe.

.
.
.
.
.

SHOES!!! I love shoes...
She wanted to have cool shoes that she can
wear with both a dress or jeans. We found
two pair for her.
First a mix of a low boot and a shoe. I love
this cut off boot/high shoe. It's lovely with
jeans as well as georgous with a dress.
It doesn't stick out as boots do.

These are from Scorett, an Italian
made Novita for 1299kr.

.
.
.
.

I also love peep-toe shoes, especially these
ones with laces, plateau and two coloured
leather.
She can wear these to everything, with or
without thin socks.

.
.
.
.
.

Accessories, it really can make a style just right...or just wrong. It's the accessories that makes the balance between the hair style, shoes, pants or skirts. Wear your hair up, chose long ear rings, but DON'T also wear a big necklase (if you're not going to a BIG party that is). Add a scarf to add colour or a touch of elegance.

Annika bought two scarfes, one greyish pasley and one pink silk scarf with roses and can with those add the touch of street or elegans, what ever she is in the mood for.

I also found a really cool bags with fringes at the Twist & Tango concept store in Haga (Gbg).

And another scarf at Monki, with small fringy balls.

As we all have seen the biker style is really hot this spring. It makes us want to through the winter jackets away and rather freeze to be cool...And with the jacket comes the skinny de-stressed jeans.

COPENHAGEN FASHION WEEK

This week the fashion in Scandinavia has been hosted by Copenhagen, well known for having great designers for both men and women. We Swedes have been wearing them for a long time and it looks like we will be doint that for 2009 also. I picked some of my favorites. Check it out and see what you find.

CASMOSE
I love the way the designer Tina Casmose is using the female shapes for her collection. The high neck, marked waste and using layers in a beautiful way – going back to the 20's. She is also very aware and is using only organic and long lasting materials, so you can invest in her clothes for many years.

.
.
.
.

.
.
STINE GOYA
Stine Goya has more edgy lines but still very female and, I think, very interesting to check out.

.
.
.
.
.
.

BO VAN MELSKENS
I think that these designs are just so cool. They make want to have them now, now, now. Bo Van Melskens is Sarah Elbo's (SARAH HEARTBO) new fashion label. The Danish designer has chosen Berlin as her base and inspiration. Apparently the BO character is a feminine dandy and serves as Sarah's muse and inspiration.

.
.
.
.

..
.
DAY BIRGER et MIKKELSEN
We have seen them for 10 years now they have successfully developed their brand on the international market. The brand's bohemian yet modern style is based on fine tailoring and fabrics.

.
.

.
..
.
RÜTZOU and MUNTHE & SiMONSEN
Two different desgigners and styles, but both using black, leather and interesting shapes in their AW 2009 Collections. I like their mix of materials and styles. Leather, fringes, smoky eyes and cape from the 20's...- makes me want to see more.

WINTER HAIR?

I like this. I love it even. I invested 40 Euros – (I normally don't spend a lot on hair products - so this was a lot(!) for me – in a cure for my, oh so dry winter-hair and it did wonders.
Just to let you know... So if you have dry, drizzy, not shiny, boring hair and you feel you want to cut it all off - don't - get the Redken Soft Heavy Creme, you don't need a lot, leave it in for 5-10 minutes....and WOW!

STOCKHOLM FASHION WEEK

I have to say that some Swedish brands have finally taken a step forward. From simplicity and sometimes boring to interesting asymmetric lines and volume.

FIFTH AVENUE SHOE REPAIR
The label was founded 2004 by Astrid Olsson and Lee Cotter. The concept is inspired by an old shoemakers shop in London that has gone from generation to generation passing on knowledge in craftsmanship and traditions of this old profession. Their 2009 Collection is very beautiful with female lines - I Like. Also their concept store in Sture Gallerian, Stockholm is really cool, with concept dresses spinning around in the dressing room.

ACNE
I haven't really been as found of Acne as the rest of Sweden...but I like this collection a lot. I don't think they have really come up with anything new - but I'm happy to see that this style will still be hot for 2009 as well, I like the oversized tops, cool shiny socks or tights and high heel or even plateau shoes.

.

.

Other interesting designs I thought Karin Wester and Dagmar had, also feminine but it a cool way. I think that is what we all women will be looking for this year. More feiminine styles but with some attitude. Why we Swedish women need the attitude to it - I don't know...something in our genes - we can't just only be feminine....that's the way we were brought up.
